For insurance carriers

Attorney auditing for personal injury, auto accident, and medical malpractice insurers.

I work with insurance companies and claims teams as an auditing attorney. I can fill in when your team needs another attorney, or audit as a third-party neutral.

Experience

Auditing, litigation, and prelitigation.

  • 2 years of experience auditing
  • 7 years of experience in litigation and prelitigation

Lines of business

Who this is for.

  • Personal injury insurance carriers
  • Auto accident insurance carriers
  • Medical malpractice insurance carriers

This page is for carriers and claims departments. If you were hurt in a car accident and want help with your own settlement, see car accident settlement negotiation.

Two ways to work together

Fill-in support or third-party neutral auditing.

Fill in when needed. When your team is short or the volume spikes, I can step in as an auditing attorney for a defined assignment.

Third-party neutral auditing. I can audit as an independent, neutral attorney.

The scope of each assignment is set in writing before work starts.

Rate

$300 an hour. Ongoing contracts negotiable.

$300 / hour for fill-in or third-party neutral auditing

For an ongoing contract, pricing is negotiable. Tell me the volume and the kind of files, and we can talk about terms.

This rate is for insurer auditing and neutral work only. It is separate from the hourly rate for individual civil clients on the fees page. Published fee discounts apply to this rate the same as other attorney work fees. They do not apply to court costs or out-of-pocket expenses, and they cannot be stacked; you receive the single best applicable rate.

Before we start

Conflict check first.

Every assignment starts with a conflict check. I decline work that conflicts with a matter I handle for another client.

I take all matters based on my case load and whether the case resonates with me. A meeting alone does not establish an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins only after I have accepted the case and we have both signed a written retainer agreement.
